Some newly available resources from Yale's Cambodian Genocide Program :
1. The CGP's Geographic Database (CGEO), a large interactive political and geographic map of the genocide, is accessible online at www.yale.edu/cgp/maps.html
Among many other functions, at the click of a mouse this multi-layered digital map of Cambodia can be queried on the name of each of the thousands of the country’s villages, or the details of hundreds of Khmer Rouge-era prisons and mass grave sites. For a user-friendly tutorial, go to www.yale.edu/gis/Instruction/CGP_tutorial
The other three CGP databases (biographic, bibliographic, and photographic), containing 28,000 individual records, are also accessible at : www.yale.edu/cgp/databases.html
2. In 2003, the CGP completed its project to compile satellite maps and mosaic images of Cambodia before, during and after the genocide. Nineteen satellite and digital elevation images of Cambodia, displaying the precise GPS locations of hundreds of prisons and mass grave sites, and subsequent memorials to the victims, in the contemporary environmental context, are accessible online at : www.yale.edu/cgp/maps.html
3. "The Demography of Genocide in Southeast Asia: The Death Tolls in Cambodia and East Timor"
(Critical Asian Studies 35:4, December 2003), and the CGP's 2001-2003 Report are available online at www.yale.edu/cgp/resources.html
